Tesserae: BAROQUE MUSIC OF MEXICO CITY CATHEDRAL

Renowned leader of Bach Collegium San Diego Ruben Valenzuela directs Tesserae Baroque in a program of popular pieces performed in Mexico City Cathedral during the Baroque period. The performance will include Victoria’s Missa ‘Ave regina coelorum’ — a piece so popular in Mexico City that the partbooks had to be recopied — in addition to works by Franco, Capillas, and Guerrero.
